What Precedent Does

Precedent is an AI-powered executive assistant that helps busy professionals manage their email more effectively. Our service:

• Monitors your Gmail inbox continuously
• Analyzes email content using AI to determine urgency and priority
• Learns your personal preferences and communication patterns
• Sends SMS/Slack briefings for urgent emails
• Sends important announcements and account updates via SMS
• Applies Gmail labels to organize your inbox
• Optionally drafts email replies (with your permission)

Service Availability

Precedent is currently in beta and available to a limited number of users. We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee continuous availability. Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

Proper Use of Service

You agree to use Precedent only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must:

• Provide accurate information when setting up your account
• Use the service only for legitimate business or personal email management
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Respect the privacy and rights of others
• Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise our systems
• Not use the service for spam, harassment, or illegal activities

Gmail Account Requirements

• You must have a valid Gmail account to use our service
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Gmail account
• You grant us permission to access your Gmail data as described in our Privacy Policy
• You can revoke Gmail access at any time through Google's security settings
• You must have the legal right to authorize access to the Gmail account you connect

Our Rights to Process Your Data

By using Precedent, you grant us the right to process your Gmail data for the following purposes:

• Reading and analyzing email content for urgency and priority scoring
• Learning your communication patterns and preferences
• Sending notifications via SMS or Slack based on email analysis
• Applying labels to your Gmail messages
• Drafting email replies (only with your explicit permission)
• Providing customer support and service improvements

Data Usage Limitations

We will NOT use your Gmail data for:

• Advertising or marketing purposes
• Sharing with third parties (except as necessary for service operation)
• Training AI models on your personal data
• Any purpose not directly related to our email management service
• Accessing emails outside the scope of our service

What Precedent Cannot Do

• Guarantee 100% accuracy in email prioritization
• Prevent all urgent emails from being missed
• Work with non-Gmail email providers
• Handle encrypted or password-protected emails
• Process emails that violate our terms of service
• Provide legal, medical, or financial advice

Termination by You

You may terminate your Precedent account at any time by:

• Contacting us at hello@getprecedent.ai
• Using the account deletion feature in your dashboard
• Revoking Gmail access through Google's security settings

Upon termination, all your data will be deleted within 24 hours as described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination by Us

We may terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Fail to pay applicable fees (when billing begins)
• Engage in behavior that harms our service or other users

We will provide reasonable notice before termination except in cases of serious violations.

Current Pricing

Precedent is currently in beta with the following pricing structure:

• Founder Rate: $299/month (first 150 users, lifetime pricing)
• Standard Rate: $500/month (after first 150 users)
• No setup fees or long-term contracts required

Payment Terms

• Monthly billing in advance
• All fees are non-refundable
• Pricing may change with 30 days notice
• Founder rate users are locked into their pricing for life
• Service will begin billing when beta period ends
